Bonus Points

If life were a video game or something
(Oh wait, The Sims haha)
Anyway - and you got bonus points for being extremely stupid,
I would DEFINITELY win.
After yesterday's idiotic move, this morning I managed to...
drumroll!
Gouge an enormous scratch in the side of my mom's BMW while pulling out of the garage.
Yayyyy.
Not.
On the bright side I chose my first inspirational artist for IB art.
Olga Gouskova! Look.

Called "Last Leave," all rights to Olga.

We're starting charcoal sketches tomorrow and I thought that was brilliant -
I loveee the idea of mixed mediums. It's a fantastic style.
I'm going to be using this picture of my best friend Bee and I as a model for my own.

I'm also going to fix my wayward bangs in charcoal form. Stupid things are taking eons to grow out.

Late

Oh my god.
I was 10 minutes late to my very first job interview.
Late.
To my job interview.
Crap.

Le Renard et L'Enfant

She looks like a mini Tilda Swinton!
So today I practiced my right to be antisocial the right way.
First, I slept until noon. I'm not exaggerating in the least.
After five days of six hours of sleep, I felt I deserved a binge.
Then I went to the library, acknowledged my massive amount of fines
(I'm consistently horrible at returning books on time)
and checked out some Nora Roberts book and a Charles De Lint one.
I love Charles De Lint but I can't find his books anywhere but at Barnes & Noble
and I've barely enough money for coffee, let alone books, however much I love them.
On that note - I've an interview at B&N Monday! I hope, hope, hopeee I get it!

Then I rented 'Dead Like Me', by the same director as Pushing Daisies.
I got through six episodes, still binging. Then -
The Fox and the Child. It's originally French but I found it at the movie store.
As far as storylines go, its not exciting per se, but it's gorgeous visually, as you can see.
Tomorrow's homework, yay!
Though I do get to add to my I.W. I think I'll take one of those pictures as inspiration. :)

Sammy and Noa (left and right) sure enjoyed it too!

Inspiration

So I've been working all evening on my Investigation Workbook (I.W.) for art.
I never realized how vast creativity can be!
(Or how short the hours!)
I haven't even started my homework.
But I found this lovely painting collection I thought I'd tide you all over with. :)

By David Salas. A frenchman, ooh la la...
Until I've time to breathe, mes amies!

Better!

So today we actually went to our classes instead of all-day pep rallies
I am, as of this year, in the IB program, so...
well, they're not easy!

I'm in loveeee with my advanced art class
I finished phys-ed credits last year so this is my first elective since
middle school band?
We have this thing called an I.W. (I forget what it stands for)
but its basically a bound sketchbook where you paste your inspirations,
your own work/doodles, and research on your favorite artists.
I think I'll start with Sophia Coppola (i.e. Marie Antoinette as a visual medium)
and my half-finished portrait of Natalie Portman.
I really like Dali as well, too, but he's definitely weird. I think I'll progress to that.
And look - my teacher!

I also love English, obviously. That class is my love in life. :)
See you all tomorrow!

P.S. Here's Nat so far. I threw in purple shadows and orange and red lips because neutral shades are a bore.

Bit blurry, sorry. Blame the host. ;)

Hmm

So I know I am supposed to be all peppy and spirited
but the first day of school was miserable.

Admittedly, David Garibaldi was pretty freakin' cool.
This guy paints with music - literally.
It's awesome. I can't really describe it though. Watch this.

Basically we sat there for six hours,
just long enough for me to figure out that this year was going to be different.
I hope, hope, hope
for the better...

Ouch

Banana popsicles and nail polish, carry me to midnight.
I've recently developed a fetish for late-night popsicles, crazy me.
Currently gnawing on a neon yellow one to match my chipped nails.

Went to see

tonight. Was slightly dumbfounded when I had 3 friends crying around me,
and realized that ever since the seventh grade and the broken ankle in 9th grade,
I've never cried in front of anyone but family.
Funny. (Nothing's changed.)

I also got a shirt for the first day of school Monday,
which is flowery pink and green and blue and white
Our principal has been fairly begging everyone to wear red
(the school color)
But I am a rebel.

And - the O.P.I. nail polish I've been trying to find for weeks. Finally found it!

It's a shameless knockoff of the $25 Chanel one. I love it.
(Called 'Gargantuan Green Grape', for reference.)

In other news, tomorrow I'm going to have to do homework. Ech.
Night, loves.

Nouveau

A new school year, a new blog.
New (old) clothes and new (grandma's) jewelry.

Went thrifting in San Diego Wednesday, hit gold.

One jacket (above),
one dress,
one shirt,
one skirt (above),
one brooch,
one scarf (above),
one pair of broken record earrings.

Thursday, lunch with Grammy at Ruby Tuesday's.
( Good 'amburgooors, as the French would say. ;) )
Then some borrowed jewelry.

Shoe bows!

Marie Antoinette necklace. Gosh, I love my grandma.

Reminds me of treasure in a genie's cave. Exotic.
Maybe something out of A Little Princess, from the attic after magic.

Also, I am officially a junior.
Then again, what's changed?
